In the vanilla one of the main problems were that units died to fast and therefore broke incredibly early, with this mode they survive longer (which is good) but they also hardly ever break before they reach that 20% left in the unit mark (which is very bad). After my first major battle with this mod I just stared at the number of dead bodies on the battlefield where our lines had met and kept shaking my head. Casualty rates for ancient battles seldom rose above 10-15%, but right now I am loosing 25-50% of my army everytime I face a sizable enemy and the enemy are almost always utterly annihilated since he just won't retreat. Radious said that he wanted units to start to run away when they were down to around 20-25% casualties and this is way to low from a historical and realistic perspective.
It takes a lot to actually break anything in this mod and this takes away from the tactical gameplay since you can't expect your flank charging heavy cav to break even the most basic troops. Right now I can flank and rear charge a unit of militia hoplites with hoplites, swords and lancers, and the **** *******s will just keep fighting. I also do have some issues with the moral of units in this mod though. Good mod especially on the campaign map, although the number of wars and enemy army stacks is just a tiny bit to large for my tastes.
